**Demika: The Caribbean Queen—Music Storyteller**

Initially an athlete, Demika"s journey into the world of music blossomed during her late adolescence, transforming her life in ways she never imagined. As she embraced her newfound passion, music became not just a hobby but a catalyst for her professional growth. Demika pursued her dreams at the University of the West Indies in St. Augustine, where she graduated with honours, earning a bachelor"s degree in Musical Arts.

Renowned for her versatility, Demika captivates audiences as a vocalist, marimbist, pannist, and multi-percussionist. Under the mentorship of esteemed instructors like Dr. Jeanine Remy and Mr. Jessel Murray, she honed her craft, developing a distinctive style that resonates with warmth and authenticity.

In 2011, Demika embarked on an exhilarating tour of the Caribbean and the United States with the UWI Arts Chorale, performing for dignitaries and at significant cultural events. Her university years were filled with invaluable experiences, thanks to her professors who encouraged her to explore life through music. She completed her studies in music instruction in 2015, leaving a lasting mark on the local arts scene.

Her debut percussion recital in 2015, titled "Becoming Me," garnered national attention, earning her the title of one of Trinidad and Tobago"s "Diamonds in the Sun." This recognition led to an invitation to perform as a guest artist under the Ministry of Culture and the Arts. Demika has also collaborated with the National Steel Symphony Orchestra and served as a frequent percussionist with the Trinidad and Tobago Piccoplat opera theater. Her dynamic performances extend to notable productions like Brian MacFarlane"s "Christmas Joy," Must Come See Productions, and JCS Productions.

Demika is celebrated for her heartfelt performances, keen ear, and meticulous attention to detail. Her professionalism on stage has made her a sought-after steelpanist and vocalist for the Aida Cruise Line, where she toured the Caribbean from late 2022 to early 2023. With her sparkling flair and Trinbagonian spirit, she earned the affectionate title of "Caribbean Queen."

Looking to the future with optimism and an open heart, Demika continues to strive for greatness, aligning her path with her divine destiny. In 2023, she earned her master"s degree in education, a testament to her commitment to both music and learning. This accomplishment paved the way for her to redefine her performing arts school, “Lodestar Music House,” a dedication to nurturing multitudes of music lovers from around the world of all ages and backgrounds. Here, she passionately trains young talents, introducing them to the rich cultural arts and history of Trinidad and Tobago while guiding them toward international certifications in music performance across various instruments, including steelpan, piano, drumkit, guitar, and voice.
Her love for education saw her develop a new path for her teaching practice, where she is now a trained TEFL teacher providing non-English speakers a dynamic opportunity to learn the English language in a creative way. This innovative approach brings a fun and vigor to the process of language learning for persons of all ages to enjoy meshing the complexities of language, cultures, and rhythm. Looking to the future with optimism and an open heart, Demika"s journey is a vibrant tapestry of dedication, talent, and love for humankind through music, inspiring all who cross her path.
